Disappointment

  • is the one word that best describes the conference realignment project A&M has tried to will into existence. The knee jerk reaction to conference change has placed a cloud over our football team at a terrible time. The team reported for fall practice only to be greeted by this mess. With Aggie football making ready to bust out from the sump hole of the 2000's our leadership dilutes their focus on the task at hand to that of a potential changing of the entire landscape of Texas A&M Athletics. Ill conceived & poorly timed is the usual result when decision makers go reactionary instead of actionary. This sec deal seemed to have the support required to simply pull up stakes & motor eastward. It wasn't that easy thank goodness.

We should now take this set-off as a blessing & come up with an actionary well conceived plan to strengthen the Big 12, honor our commitment with the Big 12 & stop looking for that greener pasture just over that next hill to the east. The big winner in the Texas Aggie East sweepstakes would be the sec. We would get away from ut & accomplish little else.

If A&M likes the way the sec is structured then why don't we champion an effort to restructure the Big 12. Get everybody on equal footing & build a conference we can be proud of. A conference other quality universities would like to be a part of. This deal of our conference watering hole so polluted by ut's self serving HS that not only does nobody want in, instead those that are in want out. Lets use the sec blue print to have what is good/great with that conference & inject the Big 12 with the things that make that conference great. Texas A&M does not need to relocte in order to realize what the sec has. We only need to restructure & build the foundation the Big 12 failed to construct back at day 1.

The Big 12 has the ingredients needed to be a great conference, if we will stay & fight, make our conference a competition amoungst equals, & not a gathering of haves/have nots. A&M is guilty in some of the taking a bigger slice than others. In that situation we need to take a good long look at self & not deflect off of ut in order to look ok in comparison. We were just about to divorce one set of problems & take a reactionary jump into another set of problems. There is a lot to fight for right here in the state of Texas. I for one believe we should build a foundation that equaly benefits all & not some more than others. It is high time Texas A&M, ou, baylor & the rest finally take a stand with regards to the bully that is ut. Make a collective stand & build a BCS Conference that is equal & great. When Texas A&M finally gets it right here, there will be no need for anyone to relocate. GigEm!

  • This is not even worthy of a response. (yet I felt compelled to give this response). Grow some balls, sir.

Additionally, this has never had anything to do with TAMU's actions, but everything to do with tu's actions. if you're looking for this conference to stay together, you should direct your pleas over there.

  • Sorry David but pull your head out your ass. The reason we are leaving is due to the fact the whorns have created a network just for theirselves. Also, we were guaranteed a bunch of money by Beebe but that never happened. We lost a bunch of money by staying where we are at. It's a new era I'n sports and it's time to get too the next level and it's called SEC. Take your f*in panties off and put on your big boy drawz! It's time
to join a real conference and play ball with the big boys. Like it or not we will get some
big time recruits and quit playing the fags from Austin. Have a goodnight! We are all Ags here and know that playing the 5-7 whorns gets us no where but maybe to the galleryfurniture.com bowl!

  • Hey David,

    Grow a pair you pussy.

Sorry Taylor, had a few tonight and got con fussed with the name. Should have known that DH has balls the size of Kyle and would never post a pussy ass article like the one by the OP.

  • the more strident the espn hatchet pieces become, the more assured you should be that we are on the right path.

a few weeks of name calling in the press? bring it on.

struggling early on in league play as arkansas did? well worth it.

have you seen what the payout is going to be on the renegotiated media rights for an expanded sec conference?

what other course of action would allow a&m to level the financial playing field to that degree?

the signals from every decision maker at a&m, including the new chancellor, suggest the same thing: we will have to endure a shit storm to get this done -- but it's going to be worth it.

    let it play out.

Hate? This piece was presented as an alternate way to look at the place we find Aggie athletics. Intended as thought provocation & not necessarily my point of view. Personally, I have more tied up in A&M football than most of you guys can imagine. The conference direction A&M pursues is important to me. It is a bit disturbing that some of you get so angry over the presentation of alternate possibilities. To contain but 4 letters, hate is an awfully big word. GigEm!

The worst thing that happens is that A&M gets runs over in SEC football, but pockets a giant truck-load of cash, which undoubtedly it will when the TV contract is renegotiated.

I doubt it gets "ran over" in the SEC. Once acclimated and recruiting at the level you should recruit, AtM should be very competitive. You'll see just how fun the competitive nature of the league is.

  • Said douche posted the same thing on a certain other site. The reaction was similar, No guts, no coconuts.

  • No. Hate seems fair in this instance.

You just said, "call off the hounds, stay in the miserable Big 12, cut our own check in half, give Iowa State more money, and celebrate how great life is!!! gig em"

And then whine about the responses.

I can't even believe I'm taking the time to address how ludicrous and to be fair, fucking pathetic, your plan is.

    earlruBBer05

  • Loftin: "Hey world, JK!!! We LOVE these teams we play. Can't wait to go to Tceh again and visit Lubbock, TX! Speakin of Tech, we've decided to give them more money by cutting our already pathetic market share up a bit more. We learned this tactic from the SEC. LOL!!! Kansas State, go build a new fieldhouse or something. Use my card! Big 12! Big 12! Big 12!"

    _ _

And do you seriously think this is distracting our team? You think Christine Michael is skipping reps to check Aubinator's latest on 247? Ridiculous. Absurd. Appalling. HATE.

    earlruBBer05

  • What a pussy the OP is....This is the attitude our leadership has traditionally had. It makes me want to throw up and it's just downright pathetic.
