You realize this is a thread full of Aggies right? Not that any of us are against fine dining and using big words like pallate (sp?), but we love our cheap, fried, grease soaked food. Sweet Tea, garlic butter, and mayo mixed with ketchup are weekly staples of mine.

The whorn board would love to partake in a discussion of the finer things in life like caviar, same sex marriage, and appletinis.

I may not like laynes as much as canes, but chicken fingers are part of the aggie tradition.

I like all facets of canes slightly better, but laynes does give more food for the price. I usually choose whatever's closer. Now that I live in Houston, Canes is my only option, and it's like 5 min from my gf's condo.

All this talking about it is making me crave it. I need it now.

Matt Featherston worked at Layne's. Matt Featherston is a good Ag.

Cane's is better than Layne's but I like supporting the local restaurant. They are pretty similar.

Also, the employees are Layne's are generally assholes.

If anyone ever makes it over to the mobile Alabama area or passing through on your way to the beach, you should find a foosackly's chick strips. Best I have ever had, all homemade sauces.

As do I my friend, you probably weren't referring to my post but foosackly's is a locally owned place over here. Its the best I can do without shipping food from aggieland here daily

Everything is a preference when it comes to a thread like this. I will always support an Aggie owned place especially with what Canes did. Canes has been known to come in and take out the local place. Very smart move. I understand all that. Yes, indeed it's business. It just shows you the Aggie pride. Since then Laynes opened another location and a lot of talk of opening up a third and forth. The owner is a damn hard worker. He bought Laynes when he was a junior in college. He has done really well for himself and deserves every bit of it.

Oasis - I gave the finger to many Aggies with great pride.
