Major Football Conferences

  • How can you be one if you don't have a Conference Championship Game? Won't that be taken into consideration when seeding for the BCS starts?

  • Don't know why it would if you play a round robin sched. Didn't hurt the B12 last season.

  • its going to bite them in the ass once the playoff starts because conference champions will be considered on the selection committee so any conference that has a conference championship has one more game in the year so even if you dont win the game if you keep it close and have a good sos then you could still make it into the playoff.

  • I dunno. I'm not sure it will hurt them. The difference being if there is a tie or something. Then maybe it might.

Maybe posting's just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest.

The SEC just made a bowl game for their top available team to play the top team from the B12. They are officially legitimized.

but thats not going to help the big 12 with getting a team into the playoff because that bowl game will be decided by the top teams in the big12/SEC that arent already in the playoff. if the pac/b1g/SEC have have one team ranked #1-2and another team ranked #5-6 and the big 12 has a team at #4 and lets say the #5 team beats the #1-2 team by 3 points in the final seconds there could be a chance that the big 12 would get knocked out because after it will come down to sos, and how many games a team has played especially with the conference championship game so fresh on everyones mind

Or it can hurt the SEC and others by knocking out a team that would have made it without losing a conference championship game.

It cuts both ways. Impossible to say one path is better than the other, imo.

  • well thats why i think you will also see teams raise the level of talent they play for ooc games in case you do lose your conference championship game.
