Position switches?

Are there any post-spring position switch possibilities either with the current roster or freshmen coming on board in the fall?
If Mike Matthews proves to be a solid back-up, will Compton move back to DT or could he practice at both positions in the fall?

Well, I don't think Sumlin will attempt to make everyone on the roster a TE like Sherman did his first year.

I'm hoping we move Tipoti to NG. He said on twitter with mike richardson that he was open to moving if he would see the field sooner.

Just an opinion, but I bet they are hesitant about moving Tipoti to D without knowing the future of Matthews and Joekel because that leaves us at a serious deficiency at Oline and only little Matthews and Ifedi (who I think will both be studs) in the 2012 class and not so impressive depth that we have seen so far from the current Oline.
Consider older Matthews and Joekel leaving after this year and we will be stretched thin, and our current depth will be pretty scary without them and P Lewis leaving after this year. If they do stay for 2013 season, we will have them and Ced O, and Klinke to hold it down with Compton or little Matthews at center, allowing Gusgus, Aguilar, Wilson to redshirt or develop as true fish before they need to fill starting spots and depth their sophomore year.

Yeah you're probly right Challenger, but the way I see it we're going to have a lack of depth somewhere. We just have to see where the biggest deficiency will be and try to fill it until we can build depth (DL IMO). I think if Matthews and Joekel do leave, then you have a hole at RT. Compton can go to guard, Matthews at center, Kilnke at guard with Ced O at LT. Maybe Ifedi can fill or someone like Cheek.

Yeah, I've been saying we need one of the OTs to stay for his sr yr and one to leave. Crazy to want one of them to leave, but that way you avoid breaking in two new starters at OT in the same year.
Maybe posting's just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest.

As well as another year of a top draft pick. I have little doubt no matter what year they go they will be our highest picks for the next 2 years

I think Compton plays first string guard and back up center in 2013. I hope that what Girth says happens, not because I want either to leave but because I think one or both is bound to leave, and I would rather it just be one of them. I think we will pick up a JUCO tackle/guard in the 2013 class and giving that class a year to mature would be huge in terms of maintaining a solid starting lineup with some good depth.
