My question is for those who have been following recruiting for several years. I've only just started in the last 10-12 months. In a big state like Texas is it common to see alot of late bloomers or those who may be getting their first starting roll on offense or defense. Surely Antwuan Davis and Maurice Smith wont be the only marque players at DB this year. I can recall a few last year whos offer list grew considerably, but were they already on the radar for most coaches?
Every year there are a handful of late bloomers. Guys who moved or were injured or just late maturing physically. In general CB is a position where some guys don't reAlly get a lot of notice until the spring evaluation period.
So its very likely we could see some very good CB emerge this upcoming season. Along with various other positions. A bulk of A&M recruiting class last year was near the end of the season... While tu was able to grab several players last year its being assumed they are very limited on scholarships, but we've heard that many times before.
Kendall Sanders, Marcus Johnson, Edward Pope, Daje Johnson. I can very easily see two of the previous at corner and they were not as highly regarded to begin with.
Pope signed with A&M
Kendall Sanders was always highly regarded by most.
