Just wanted to start up some talk with the basketball guys on this site.
How are they different than Branch & Green? What do they do better?
Can Reese be a mire effective PG than Branch?
I know Reese will obviously get a lot of PT time, but how much can Caruso contribute to the team next year?
How do you see Kennedy and co. Finishing out the class?
Thanks.
Reese is a much different play from either Branch or Green in that he's a much more effective scorer. I don't think he has the flat out speed of Jamal in the open court but he's quick on the half court. He has a decent jump shot but he really excels at getting in the lane and finishing or getting to the foul line. In his first game back with Bryan the other day he hit 12 of 15 at the line accounting for more than half of his 23 points on the game.
Caruso is a little bit similar to Jordan. They're both great athletes, they both shoot the ball and finish well at the rim. Neither is very quick.
As for playing point guard at the next level, I think he's going to have some challenges. Like I said, he's not exceptionally athletic so he's going to be pretty easy to stay with for elite defenders. He has good vision though and he passes better than anyone the Aggies have now except Dash probably. If he can control his turnovers, which is what Branch struggled with, then I think he could be a solid point guard early on.
I think Caruso needs to try to follow in Jordan Green's footsteps if he wants to contribute early on. He needs to become a solid defender like Green has. I think Caruso has a more natural offensive game than Jordan so he might be able to score a little bit better early on than Green has.
As for finishing out the class, they're turning over every rock in the country trying to find a big man and a point guard, but it's tough this late in the game.

I could see us signing a JUCO big man in addition to another PG and a combo guard. I'm sure we would take Shabazz if he were interested.
Aubrey have you heard anything about Amedeo Della Valle from Findlay Prep?
