  • so what did holder say about this today? They are not going to willy nilly start blowing up people in their homes that are not an imminent threat to the country. second he is in the effin senate now. I have seen no attempt from the tea party to take back the rights we lost during the Patriot Act debate. When he does that then I will support his filabuster efforts. Until then it is grandstanding.

Thing is there isn't a policy so attempting to force one when there isn't one is really simple minded. We currently have no drones that can be used on US soil as they are under military control. the military cannot use them here unless there is a presidential order or an act of congress that allows them to be used under an imminent threat to the country. That is not some guy eating popcorn in his living room which I take it is what Rand seems to be concerned about.

Where this is really headed though is those that are afraid the government will out gun them when they load up in a place like Idaho and they can no longer force a shootout with government agents and police powers. This is really a part of the militia movement and guys like Ted Nugent that support a fringe guy like Rand Paul and other tea party affiliates. The government will ALWAYS outgun a single fringe guy or group that tries to organize to violate the laws of this country and the constitution.

small difference between listening in on a conversation and shooting a missile off a drone through your window without due process. I don't like either of them.

The Founding Fathers would string the current politicians up by the their toes and take target practice. Read the Constitution and then read the garbage that comes out of Washington, it's just depressing. Can you imagine Madison or Franklin saying we have to pass the bill to find out what's in the bill?

You're right this is about Obama b/c he's the damn president. Who else are we to blame for his policies? I blame Bush for his idiot policies too.

The American people need to wake the F up, realize that the very fabric of this nation is being removed one strand at a time, and hold our politicians accountable.

Drones are used over American airspace and have been used for surveillance on American citizens. All he is asking is that the president say that it is unconstitutional to kill American citizen on American soil with drone. They are using this to force the government to get warrants to use drone surveillance.

how is killing a non-combative american citizen in america helping the collective?

haha because you know ALL the details right??

People like you are so stupid and so ignorant. You think your going to know all the details? I served in a special operations unit and served this country 4 times. Believe me, you will never know the truth. And guess what, politicians like him will capitalize on it.

So enlighten me how many American citizens on American soil your units have killed? The question he is asking which the White House refuses to answer is "is it against the constitution to kill an American citizen on American soil who is not presently displaying an immediate threat". Thanks for your service even if you are an ass.

Rainag, I live near Clovis, NM. There are plenty of drones on American soil that could be used in this country. From right here they can strike anywhere around the world.

Bin Laden found out what Clovis brings to the table.

The thing you are missing is that a presidential order can make them go anywhere. It might be used against potential terrorists, but who can really guess the potential? How much research will Obama put in before he convicts an American, and then sentences them to death?

And most importantly, where is this line being drawn? And when will that line be moved to include political opponents?

Right now, he could potentially send America's special forces against anyone he wants, foreign or domestic, but those are humans who could decide not to carry out the order. With drones, it is simply a video game.

It is simply too much power for a political person to hold.

And finally, lets take this further: who will be president after Obama? And what if they abuse their power? When you let the cat out of the bag, there is no putting it back in.

not necessarily founded on faith. good morality, yes, but they were clear that the state would remain secular.

Our government is bad because it's become so bloated over the years. People don't care enough to be involved in learning about candidates, so the incumbency bias keeps the bums in congress for as long as they want.

But the greatest error is the new American idea that our government is supposed to provide for our means. The founding fathers wanted self driven citizens to vote for who they believe is the best candidate, not lazy bums that vote based on looks, party line, or superficial advertisement.
