Time stamps are being weird again on the board.

We'll be bringing The Pulse back on Monday, unfortunately we just haven't felt like there's been enough going on the last two weeks to put it together. With basketball's first exhibition coming next week and football having a home game this weekend though there should be some good stuff.

We cannot be above this. If it is being done to us, we need to do it to them. F the Big 12 and all those in it. If they say the SEC is too tough, counter with the Big 12 being a weak joke of a league, etc.

Seriously, this staff needs me and a few others on board to recruit these kids. I would be absolutely blasting these other schools for what they're saying. I've been in sales for 14 years and I have learned over that time that there are ways you can absolutely destroy your competition without being a negative jerk off. This is what wee need to be doing. You hit them with facts. You get these kids to question the other school's motives and prep the beforehand for what they're going to hear. It can be successfully done and it should be.

This is a great article. I work in a field of hospital protocols and formularies. Like most industries, we deal with exclusive contracts. you must use their product or our product. I've spent the past 12 years dealing with negative recruiting.

I've learned that people want to do business with those that exhibit character and integrity (assuming the merits of the schools/products are the same). If someone is willing to bash someone/something else to benefit their own position, why would you think they won't bash you when it serves their interests?

Example: Matt Davis gets told he's getting switched to WR by this recruiter. Let's say Matt freaks out and goes to this recruiter's school where he is told he can play QB. Do you honestly think that when Matt is on campus that this desparate recruiter is going to tell their next QB prospect that Matt is a lock at QB at his own school? Hell no. He's going to tell this QB whatever he needs to hear to get the commitment. If a recruiter can't land players, he's a waste of money. Recruiting is a major part of their job. If you don't perform, they will find someone who will. It's a business plain and simple.

Our staff needs to anticipate the trash that will be thrown at their players. It shouldn't be a surprise. It's the same handful of arguments only packaged in different ways. If our staff doesn't nip this before it becomes an issue, that's not the fault of a negative recruiter. That's the fault of a lazy A&M staff.

It comes down to it at the end. College Station is still centered in between Houston, Dallas, and Austin/San Antonio and if you want to play in Texas, we aren't moving from the state. Also, want to play in the best conference in America? We are the only school that does who is located in the State, some of the facts that Aubrey brought up needs to be forwarded to the coaches and this might be a mute point.

Just care about the bottomline...

It's not negative for our staff to tell a Houston kid that we'd like for their family to be able to drive an hour and half for them to see them whenever they want but if being able to see your family isn't a priority, sure there are some competitive schools to go to up across the red river...we'd love or you to play competitive football AND represent close to home.

That's not negative, just pointing out facts that stillwater is a long ass way from Houston.

It's all just part of the game
