The John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity organization, named after legendary Coach John McLendon, who helped integrate the game of basketball. The Foundation was founded by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and serves as the minority/diversity initiative of the Association.
Each year, the Foundation awards a minimum of five $10,000 postgraduate scholarships to senior-level minority students who intend to pursue an advanced degree in athletics administration.
To help raise funds for the Scholarship Program, Texas A&M’s athletics department donated an official Texas A&M football game jersey that the Aggies wore during the 2011 season.
Information on how to obtain this Aggies’ jersey can be found at:
Bids start at $250 and all proceeds will benefit the John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation.
