Ideally on the bench so he can redshirt and we can have him longer. Too early to tell though

I doubt he redshirts. We are going to start putting up Xbox numbers through the air and recievers will be jumping on the bandwagon. I can see us having several thomas johnsons on the depth chart in the next few years.

Yeah but if all the receivers we already have on the roster step up, we shouldn't need him this year

WR's aren't nearly as talented as some make them out to be
TJ's the most talented WR we've signed in a while
I bet he makes that unit better day 1 & will play a big role this fall
when they make you better & contribute majorly you don't shirt them
wasted shirts were guys like Floyd Raven & Ivan Robinson, those were stupid

I would say that from a pure potential standpoint, though, that he is probably #1 or 2 on the team, so if he adjusts to the speed and physicality of the college game and learns the playbook I would assume he gets significant playing time this year. I mean if we have any 5 WR sets, who will be out there? I would think TJ would be in the mix. Swope, Walker, EZ, Kennedy, and TJ or Evans. That's my guess.

I agree with you, you don't shirt him if he is better than what you have. But I'm just saying I hope the current guys step it up and he can shirt

He can still rip it up with LQ & Griffin, remember you stack classes, they'll only be a year apart
TJ with those guys will be like Fuller with EZ & Swope as a unit

I agree that if he is only able to play sparingly you shirt him
but if we feel he can assert himself & be in the top three in catches with Swope & EZ you play him

You're right in as much as bad WR's aren't very talented. However, the good to great ones are very talented.

Thomas Johnson will not redshirt. He's the best hs WR prospect A&M has signed.... Probably ever. Redshirt him and you get his talents for two years. Let him play and you get him 3.
In addition, skill position guys don't need to redshirt as much as the guys in trenches and LB's. Physically and mentally the bug guys just arent mature enough to compete... Especially in the sec.
