Who is our QB next year?

  • I feel its either Manziel or Davis.

  • I wouldn't count out Showers in the least...mobile with a BIG arm

  • That's the thing, they're all tremendous athletes. They need a wildcat package for the two backup quarterbacks, whoever they end up being. Imagine a wildcat package with two guys who can actually throw the ball.

    I agree.

We have great athletes at QB, Manziel and Davis in particular, and we would be handicapping ourselves by not using that to our advantage.

Watching LSU, Jefferson cant throw to save his life (except against us) but they put him in there to make plays with his legs and it keeps teams off balance.

One of my best friends was QB for Les at LSU and they mixed in designed runs for him frequently because he was 4.6 type guy and it gave the defense one more thing to think about.

  • Florida used a two quarterback system a few years ago and had success with it.

I think whoever comes in at OC will have a field day designing a set of plays that has 2 of our qb's out there at the same time. I hate a gimmick heavy offense, but I love a good usage of it.

  • Yeah, I don't think they'll go overboard like Harsin did with the Ash package, I think that hurts the rhythm of your starting quarterback, but you could do all kinds of stuff with it as a short yardage package.

  • If our Fish QB beats out Showers then be prepared for a rough Season. We need to hope that Showers is the guy b/c what starting fish QB led his team a sucessful season ?

  • Terrelle Pryor went 10-3 as a true fish. Erik Ainge went 10-3 with Tennessee. Mitch Mustain went 10-4 with arkansas. Christ Leake went 8-5.

Jemelle Holloway won the national title for OU in the 80's as a true fish.

Well if you were hoping for that Fedora should have been your man, because i dont think in the history of Sumlin being a coach that he has ever run a wildcat in his offenses.

I just hope for the sake of A&M football Sumlin does readjusts his offense to fit what the team has in the way of talent, kind of what OU use to run with Adrian Peterson.

you need to go look at those Defenses........Those QB's didnt win those games....I believe a strong running game and some damn good defenses.

Thats why it needs to be all about DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE...............................................

Although one thing Matt Davis does have going for him in comparison to Terrelle Pryor, is Matt Davis is no where near as stupid.

  • just answering the question above, chasepointer. i didnt say they did it all by themselves.

We don't have no where near the depth of those teams at other positions for us to start a Fish QB. Pryor didn't 13 games his fish yr. He started about 6 and he played wR in thier bowl game.

    I quoted the wrong thread.
